Polkadoodles was formed in May 2009 by husband and wife team Nikky and Kris Hall.
Nikky has crafted all her life since being a small child and was recognised throughout school for her Artistic and Calligraphy skills. Although she did not go to Art College after school, her career involved working in the marketing, media, print and packaging industries where she gained a wealth of experience from planning & designing adverts to planning TV and Radio advertising, PR and Photography campaigns for large Corporate clients. After many years in this field she moved into Print and Packaging, working closely with studios for clients such as Cadburys, Mars, Nestle, Tesco, Disney, Boots and many other large Corporate clients.
During her time working at an Envelope manufacturing company she bought a simple kit from a TV craft show, was immediately hooked and began to sell cards from the boot of her car at work and within a month started to teach other people in the area. Within a couple of months she had orders piling up for cards for 4 different Greeting Card shops in Yorkshire and in her spare time started making Wedding Stationery at request which soon developed into full wedding planning including flowers!
At the time there were many craft companies in the UK but Nikky struggled to find products that catered for her taste. Being frustrated with the lack of choice on offer she soon decided to make her own! After sending samples to the UK's only TV Craft Shopping channel, Create and Craft, the products were snapped up and in July 2009, only 2 months after starting the business, Nikky was on TV showcasing Polkadoodles to a national audience.
The fan base grew rapidly and Polkadoodles is very proud and grateful to it's loyal base of customers who love Nikky's artwork and Polkadoodles products which include Clear stamps, craft dies, paper packs, digital downloads, CD rom Collections and more.
Nikky and Kris are very proud of the business, having started up during the height of the UK recession and still trading today despite very tough economic trading conditions, which has seen many of their competitors closing their doors. Polkadoodles is well known for it's quirky art and for always being on trend and ahead of the pack.

We work extremely hard to bring collections which offer really great value and we're constantly trying to improve what we do, add value and content and make sure that we give 100% to everything we do, and ultimately I think that's why our customers are so loyal and keep coming back - they are constantly telling us that the last collection is the best ever and that means each product release is better than the last and we can't do much better than that. It always amazes me how many people buy our collections almost 'unseen' which humbles me very much because I know they do this because they trust the quality they will get, always. Here's to many many more years to come!"
As a Freelance illustrator and designer Nikky also designs for many other Crafting brands - often anonymously - and her artwork can be seen on many other products on the high street.
